About the Role
Arcadia Research is seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) to lead the underwriting function for our Radian platform and similar products. This role is critical for assessing and pricing risks associated with the alternative assets being tokenized and pooled on our platform. As a key leader in our organization, the CUO will develop underwriting standards, methodologies, and pricing models that ensure the quality and performance of our asset base, which is essential for a platform dealing with asset-backed securities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee underwriting standards, policies, and processes for tokenized asset-backed securities
- Assess the risks associated with alternative assets being pooled and securitized, including financial, market, and operational risks
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including blockchain engineers, data scientists, and financial experts, to integrate AI-driven risk models into underwriting practices
- Lead the evaluation of asset quality and establish criteria for onboarding assets onto the Radian platform
- Set pricing strategies and models that align with institutional-grade risk management standards while ensuring competitive returns for investors
- Continuously monitor and optimize underwriting processes based on market trends, performance data, and emerging risks
- Present underwriting findings and insights to senior management, stakeholders, and external partners to guide strategic decision-making
You might be a good fit if you:
- Have 8+ years of experience in underwriting, risk management, or asset-backed securities, with a track record of leading underwriting functions at a financial institution or fintech company
- Have deep expertise in financial risk modeling, credit analysis, and asset valuation, especially in alternative assets and securitization
- Are familiar with blockchain technology and how it applies to financial markets and asset tokenization
- Have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Possess a strategic mindset and can design innovative risk solutions in a fast-evolving market environment
Strong candidates may also:
- Have experience integrating AI-driven models into risk and underwriting frameworks
- Be well-versed in regulatory requirements related to securitization and asset-backed securities
- Possess a strong network within institutional finance, including relationships with asset managers, rating agencies, and institutional investors
- Have expertise in alternative finance, including private credit, real estate, and other non-traditional assets

Expected Base Annual Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 USD
Logistics
Onsite policy: In general, we expect staff to be in one of our offices at least 60% of the time. However, some roles may require more time onsite, while some roles may allow for less.
