About the Role

The Techno-Social Dynamics team at Arcadia Research doesn’t merely observe these shifts – we are shaping the policies and systems that will govern the future. As a Research Scientist on this team, you will explore the societal and economic implications of intelligent decentralized systems, analyzing how blockchain, AI, and Web3 technologies intersect with global socioeconomic structures. Your research will provide the intellectual foundation for policy recommendations in a post-industrial world, guiding the evolution of decentralized economies that prioritize human dignity, equity, and resilience. This role is about envisioning and building frameworks that ensure technological progress is aligned with social good, laying the groundwork for systems that empower communities across the globe, particularly in regions historically marginalized by industrial capitalism.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the socioeconomic impact of decentralized systems with a focus on policy implications and governance models.
  • Conduct cross-disciplinary research on the role of blockchain, AI, and Web3 in shaping future labor markets, environmental governance, and identity systems.
  • Develop and publish policy frameworks that address the needs and opportunities of a post-industrial, blockchain-driven global economy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in academia, government, and industry to translate research into actionable insights that influence global policy debates.
  • Contribute thought leadership that informs the public discourse on the societal transformations driven by decentralized technology.

Expected Annual Salary: $150,000 - $300,000 USD

Logistics

Onsite policy: In general, we expect staff to be in one of our offices at least 60% of the time. However, some roles may require more time onsite, while some roles may allow for less.
